  • Forest Resources
I love plants, from huge trees to tiny flowers, from wild native plants to domesticated crops. My key work interests are dendrology, native plant identification, the biology of woody plants, forest ecology (especially forest succession), and wild plant foods. At home, I’m an avid gardener and raise a lot of my own vegetables and fruits. I also enjoy backpacking, camping, and hiking in the natural areas of Oregon and the western U.S. In addition, I have been teaching and designing online courses in biological sciences and natural resources since 2002. I am a certified Quality Matters (QM) online course reviewer.
